Oasis Float
Oasis Float offers sensory deprivation floatation therapy for relaxation and stress relief.
What is Oasis Float?
Oasis Float is a wellness Center that specializes in sensory deprivation floatation therapy. It is a form of therapy where individuals float in a tank filled with warm water and Epsom salt, which creates buoyancy and allows them to float effortlessly. The tank is designed to be soundproof and lightproof, creating an environment of complete relaxation and sensory deprivation. The therapy has been shown to reduce stress, anxiety, and chronic pain while promoting relaxation and well-being. Oasis Float may also offer additional services, such as massage therapy and acupuncture, to enhance the overall wellness experience.
This service is offered individually & as a package
During an oasis float session, all that is needed is for the participant to enter the float tank, relax, and let the body naturally float in the saltwater solution. Some facilities may offer optional amenities such as music, lighting, or aromatherapy to enhance the experience. Still, these are optional for the basic float therapy session. Participants may also wear earplugs the facility provides to block out any outside noise.
While oasis float therapy is generally considered safe for most individuals, there are some contraindications. These include:
- Open wounds or skin irritations that the saltwater solution may aggravate.
- Incontinence or uncontrolled urination may contaminate the float tank.
- Claustrophobia or fear of enclosed spaces, as the float tank is small.
- Certain medical conditions, such as epilepsy or schizophrenia, may require medical clearance before participating in float therapy.
- Pregnancy, especially in the first trimester, may pose a risk to the fetus.
It is important to consult with a healthcare professional before participating in oasis float therapy if you have any concerns or medical conditions that may affect your ability to participate safely.
Float FAQ
No, just yourself. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotions, and earplugs are supplied. If you choose, you can bring a brush/comb and deodorant after your float. There are two hair dryers supplied for your convenience.
No, you float Au Naturel. You can wear one if you choose to, but some people have commented that that’s all they can feel and concentrate on is the bathing suit. So, your choice.
Our cabin is large, to help reduce claustrophobia. There is a light inside the cabin that you control if you choose not to turn it off. You can also open the cabin door to make you feel more comfortable.
The lights in the room are dimmed for this reason.
The water in the cabin is filtered out of the cabin four times and each time it goes thru a 4 stage filtration process. A hair filter, small particle filter, UV filter, and an Ozone filter. As well, we add food grade 35% hydrogen peroxide. This is the reason you need to wait two weeks after dyeing your hair. On top of this, the particle filters are replaced weekly, and the inside of the cabin is given a deep clean. We clean the showers after each person as well. The water is also tested several times a day to make sure all levels are good.
The first shower is to get all the body oils, hair products, deodorant and lotions off the body. This helps to keep the water and filters in tip top shape. You only use shampoo and body wash for the first shower. The second shower, after your float, is to wash all the salt off your body and out of your hair. During this shower you use shampoo, body wash, conditioner and then lotion if you choose to after the shower.
The earplugs help protect your ears from the salt water as well as help with outside noises. If water happens to get into your ears, there is a vinegar/water solution provided to rinse the salt out of your ears.
There are 1100 pounds of Epsom salts in the cabin. To give you an idea of how much salt that is, we started with 6 inches of water, and added the 1100 pounds of salt, which then brought the level up to 10 inches. That’s how deep the water is that you float in. With that much salt, you don’t have to do anything at all to float. You are so buoyant that you float with ease.
The water and the air in the cabin are set at 94.5F, which is skin temperature. Body temperature is 98.6F. This means that you can feel the water line but not the difference in temperature, which makes you feel like you are floating in space.
